Designed to mount directly on the original handle shaft of many Shimano and Daiwa reels, this larger 45 mm knob is a favorite for surf casting and heavy boat jigging.

⭕ Kits & Bearing Pairs

Choose the kit that matches your reel family. The package includes the correct bearing pair for the kit you select.

◉ D Kit (typically for Daiwa) → two 8 × 5 × 2.5 mm bearings

◉ NS/S Kit (typically for Shimano) → one 8 × 5 × 2.5 mm and one 9 × 4 × 4 mm bearing

(All dimensions are ID × OD × Width, in millimeters.)

⭕ Installation Tips

⓵ Use the included kit (D or NS/S) and included bearings. Follow the diagram carefully to install the 45 mm knob.

⓶ Daiwa: with D Kit, replace the stock knob’s internal parts with the two included 8 mm OD bearings and assemble per diagram.

◑ Some Daiwa reels (e.g., Saltist) ship with plastic sleeves instead of bearings (sometimes one sleeve + one 8 × 5 × 2.5 bearing). That’s normal—replace them with the included bearings.

⓷ Newer Shimano (e.g., Stella, Talica, TwinPower, Tranx, Trinidad/Ocea Jigger): many use 9 mm OD bearings on both sides of the factory knob.

◑ The UJ 45 mm knob uses 8 mm OD (inboard/arm side) and 9 mm OD (outboard/end-cap side) housings → you’ll need one 8 × 5 × 2.5 and one 9 × 4 × 4 bearing. (Included with the NS/S Kit.)

⓸ Talica notes: newer Talica knobs often have 9/9 mm sleeves; earlier versions may be 9 mm (arm side) + 8 mm (end-cap side). In both cases, install one 8 × 5 × 2.5 + one 9 × 4 × 4 bearing (replacing sleeves).
