To confirm fit and select the correct size for Shimano, Daiwa, Avet, Accurate, and other reels, remove your factory knob and measure three things from the original assembly:
🔴 What to Measure
⓵ Handle-knob shaft length
Measure the exposed shaft length from the handle arm shoulder to the end of the threaded tip (or to the clip groove).
⓶ Inner (inboard) bearing or bushing — the one closest to the handle arm
Record ID × OD × Width in millimeters.
⓷ Outer (end-cap side) bearing or bushing — the one near the knob end cap
Record ID × OD × Width in millimeters.
◑ Bearing dimensions are always written ID × OD × Width (e.g., 4 × 7 × 2.5 mm).
◑ If your knob uses plastic sleeves/bushings instead of bearings, measure them the same way (inner diameter, outer diameter, and thickness).
🔴 Tools You’ll Need
◎ Small screwdriver or hex tool (for the knob cap and screw)
◎ A pair of calipers (digital or dial)
◎ A small tray to catch shims/spacers
🔴 Step-by-Step
⓵ Remove the knob cap and screw, then slide the knob off the shaft.
⓶ Carefully collect any shims/spacers—you’ll reuse them.
⓷ Measure the shaft length.
⓸ Remove and measure the inboard bearing/bushing (ID, OD, Width).
⓹ Remove and measure the outboard bearing/bushing (ID, OD, Width).
⓺ Reassemble loosely so you don’t misplace parts.
💧See the reference photos below (click to enlarge) to identify each measurement point.
🔴 What We Need From You
Send us:
◎ Reel brand/model (e.g., Shimano, Daiwa, Avet, Accurate)
◎ Shaft length (mm)
◎ Inboard bearing/bushing size (ID × OD × Width, mm)
◎ Outboard bearing/bushing size (ID × OD × Width, mm)
◎ A quick photo of the disassembled knob (optional but helpful)
💧With these measurements, we’ll confirm compatibility and recommend the most suitable Custom Reel Knob for your setup.
Tips
◎ Work over a towel so tiny clips and shims don’t bounce away.
◎ Don’t overtighten the end-cap screw during test-fit snug is enough.
◎ If you’re unsure about any measurement, snap a close-up photo and we’ll double-check it for you.
Please email us your measurements at info@pbmfishing.com, we will get back to you as soon as possible.
